Outstanding food and service! Very busy when we went without a booking but they accommodated us at the bar. After 10 days traveling around Mexico, this place still impressed us with the quality of food. Unbelievable flavours. My husband was speechless about the pork shank it was that good! Veg options were superb. Loved the cocktails too. Oh and you must try their ice creams too! If you're in Puerto Escondido, you MUST visit this place.

Amazing experience. Alex our waiter is probably the best we have seen in our over 10 trips to Mexico. And that says a lot with all the hard working people in Mexico. The food was superb with its freshness and tastes. But the star of the show was Alex and his recommendations. Great music and just a “great” atmosphere.

El Nene is an absolute gem! We loved it so much that we came back for a second night, and it did not disappoint. The food here is exceptional—everything we tried was a 10/10. The Baja tacos were bursting with flavor, the pork shank was perfectly tender, and the catch of the day was fresh and beautifully prepared. To top it all off, the crepe was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The service here is equally top-notch. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares about their guests. On our first night, we accidentally left a bag behind, and our waiter ran after us to ensure we got it back—an incredible gesture that speaks volumes about their dedication. If you’re in the area, El Nene is an absolute must-visit. Delicious food, outstanding service, and a warm atmosphere—you really can’t go wrong here! Highly recommend!

Best place in Puerto Escondido. The food was fantastic and the service even better! Surf and Turf and the Dorado were really good. Great drinks!! Gin-Ger drink one of the best! Thank to the service team.., you rock!

Great restaurant with very friendly staff and an amazing selection of food! My friends and I had a great time frequenting El Nene, the staff treated us with the kindness and generosity of old friends. Specifically, Andres and Francisco provided us with excellent service and gave us travel tips for Puerto. The restaurant offers a delicious selection of dips to pair with chips that they serve with every meal. The octopus tacos are excellent. El Nene is great for a casual drink with friends or a special occasion. The servers sing to customers celebrating their birthday. The restaurant is a necessary destination for tourists coming to Puerto, it definitely enhanced my two-week stay.

Stunning spot for dinner and drinks. I dined solo at the bar and all the staff were super friendly. The cocktails were unreal - passion fruit mezcalita & house special carajillo. The fish of the day was cooked to perfection. All this under a stunning roof with great atmosphere. Muchas gracias!

Really fabulous restaurant, loved the vibe, atmosphere, lighting, architecture, details, service and of course Food! I had dinner - sashimi and tacos and it was fresh, clean simple yet delicious! All the staff were attentive and friendly and super helpful. Best dinner in Puerto Escondido.
